REVIEW OF AMERICAN DESI BY JAY BHATT

‘The American Desi’ by Jay Bhatt revolves around one such student, our main protagonist Ameya, who comes from a humble background, but has the dream to thrive and achive great success, alongwith his main focus of travelling different places and getting to know more about them.

The Blurb is as follows:

It’s a journey story of an Indian student who has reached the U.S shores at a mid age level and finds himself in the middle of many muddles. 

My Review:

There are a multitude of reasons pertaining why some students take the option of studying abroad. The motive, purpose and rationale behind this decision may vary from one individual to another.

One student might choose to study abroad due to the high quality of education at a particular foreign university, whereas another might choose to study at a foreign university due to the relative ease in getting admission as compared to their own country’s university of the same stature.

Reading about the story of our main lead and the beautiful narration by the author of all the pictursque places that Ameya has the chance of visiting definitely invokes a feeling of Wanderlust amongst the readers. 

What begins as an individual journey of Ameya later turns into a couple’s expedition and we also see how our protagonist tries to maintain stability in a way where he is true to his values, yet he also has respect for the opinions of his partner. 

We can expect the unexpected with this book, because even though it starts with Ameya reaching abroad to puruse and focus on his goals, there are a lot of other things which he will encounter in the way, making it an interesting experience for the readers to enjoy along the way.

My Rating:

Also, the way with which the book ends, true to the title, is an ode to all the Desi, who may find themselves in different places physically but still are connected to their own country by heart. I enjoyed it throughout and hence I am going to give this book FIVE DESI STARS ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
