REVIEW OF SENSE OF GRATITUDE BY BIREN BANERJEE
In simple words, Gratitude pertains to a warm feeling of thankfulness that one might feel towards a certain someone.
This is a story about India and its history, cultures and rituals. More than that, it's also a story of family, and the individual lives lived in this rich and fascinating context.
A Sense of Gratitude is a compelling tale of love and loyalty, devotion and dedication, sadness and survival, happiness and joy.
My Review:
We celebrate merely a couple of days to show our recognition towards what our ancestors did to make us reach at a point where we are today, and then just forget about it as an afterthought and move on with our life.
However, ‘Sense of Gratitude’ by Biren Banerjee was an eye opener in a way that it makes us just think, ponder, cogitate and ruminate about all the efforts and the hardships which our predecessors and primogenitors went through, and the circumstances which they might have faced to give us our ‘Present’.
Separated into five parts, the book encompasses the journey of a few individuals, and the author has very smartly connected it together, along with incorporating our history, to make it an engrossing and mind blowing experience for the readers.
A very detailed narration has been given related to the historical events that took place in that era, and reading about it definitely makes our heart go out to the people who lived that life, to see how all of them fought for what they felt was right and the plethora of emotions which they had to surpass to achieve their goals and objectives.
Going into the book, it feels like there won't be much drama or happenstance as the author needs to keep it linked to the reality. However after finishing reading it, we definitely might feel like the lives and the journey of the people from the story who went through all the motions was nothing short of being phenomenal.
True to its title, the author has managed to show his gratitude and appreciation to his forefathers via the book, hence I am going to give this book FIVE GRATITUDE STARS ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
