REVIEW OF THE HUNTER BY LJ SHEN
Written in first person POV, The Hunter by LJ Shen is the story between Hunter and Sailor, wherein they agree to move in together for six months in exchange of them both getting something in return.
The blurb is as follows:
Hunter
I didn’t mean to star in a sex tape, okay?
It was just one of those unexplainable things. Like Stonehenge, Police Academy 2, and morning glory clouds.
It just happened.
Now my ball-busting father is sentencing me to six months of celibacy, sobriety, and morbid boredom under the roof of Boston’s nerdiest girl alive, Sailor Brennan.
The virginal archer is supposed to babysit my ass while I learn to take my place in Royal Pipelines, my family’s oil company.
Little does she know, that’s not the only pipe I’ll be laying…
Sailor
I didn’t want this gig, okay?
But the deal was too sweet to walk away from.
I needed the public endorsement; Hunter needed a nanny.
Besides, what’s six months in the grand scheme of things?
It’s not like I’m in danger of falling in love with the appallingly gorgeous, charismatic gazillionaire who happens to be one of Boston’s most eligible bachelors.
No. I will remain immune to Hunter Fitzpatrick’s charm.
Even at the cost of losing everything I have.
Even at the cost of burning down his kingdom.
My review:
I have just one word for this book: ‘Amazeballs’
Unlike other books where I read reviews as well as spoilers, I sort of skipped it for this book and went in completely blind. And the outcome was quite pleasant. I was totally surprised to find out that Sailor was Sparrow and Troy’s daughter.
I am stunned by the writer's ability to blow us away every single time. I have now read almost more than 10 books by this author and each single book has something completely new to offer. Never have I felt any single book wherein her content is repeating.
Anyhow, moving back to the review, The Hunter is an intricately designed book which has all the emotions and situations to make our hearts race faster.
My thoughts on hero:
Hunter Fitzpatrick is the specimen of how I love my heroes, and he was absolutely adorable.
My thoughts on heroine:
As far as Sailor goes, I am not going to lie, I was kind of bummed for her. Being the daughter of Troy, I expected her to be a mafia royalty, a mafia princess, but she was just another normal girl. I know that's not a bad thing, but I kind of expected more for her.
My favorite quote:

My rating:
I totally loved this book and I will recommend to anyone who love a good playboy and the heroine who brings him to his knees and makes him a committed guy. The only reason I'm giving it four stars instead of five is because I wanted Sailor to be more of a mafia princess.
So, this book gets Four Hunting stars from me. ⭐⭐⭐⭐
