REVIEW OF DARK REVELATIONS BY PREETI G
Written in third person POV, Dark Revelations by Preeti G is a thriller/ mystery revolving around the suspenseful murders that have happened and the accused woman who has no remembrance of the incidence.
Lorraine Smith wakes up one day to find that her husband Tom is missing.
She’s severely wounded and unable to remember what happened that night - the night her life changed!
Meanwhile, she unwittingly becomes the prime accused in a series of gruesome murders that rock the sleepy town.
Would she be able to recall the events of that fateful night or become a victim of her own troubled past?
My Review:
When I read the blurb, I got the reverse ‘‘Gone Girl’’ vibes from the book and I was so excited to just dive into it.
Trust me, the book doesn't disappoint at all.
It was written so meticulously and has all the elements that will keep the readers guessing for what's about to come next.
Dark Revelations begins with our MC, Lorraine, waking up from immense pain, hurting head, scars, bruises and no recollection whatsoever about why she is in this state or what happened to her.
Over the course of few days, as she is recovering, she tries to reach her husband, Tom, but has no idea where he is and is unable to contact him.
We get the snippets from Lorraine describing about her happy time with Tom before everything went to hell and these memories made my heart ache. For all her flaws and drawbacks, she did love her husband wholeheartedly.
The couple had been facing some compatibility issues over the time, but an inexplicable trauma was the last straw in their relationship and they just started drifting apart after that.
My thoughts on heroine:
Some might feel that Lorainne was clingy, after all she did outright threaten her husband that he wouldn't find her alive if he left her. But I sympathised her. Right from the beginning, there were hints that something had happened with her in the past and so I understood where she was coming from.
My thoughts on hero:
I don't think Tom deserves any kind words. If he were my husband, I would have left the jerk long time ago. His behavior was repulsive. I don't care what happened between him and Lorraine, what he did in the end, his actions, they can never be justified.
My Rating:
I think I have already said enough and have no idea how to say more without spoiling anything, so I guess I would stop here now. But I do desperately need a sequel as I feel that there are some loose ties that were not completely closed and I absolutely need to learn more about them. This was a true thriller in every sense and I'm going to give it Five Revealing Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
