REVIEW OF THE ROCHETTI QUEEN BY BREE PORTER

The third and the final book in the Rochetti Dynasty trilogy, "The Rocchetti Queen" picks up right where the second book left off.

The blurb is as follows:

In the shadow of a metropolis, there lives a dynasty that is tearing apart at the very seams...

After the sudden brutal death that shook the Chicago Outfit to the core, the balance of the Rocchetti family has never been so unstable. Not only is each Rocchetti determined to gain more power for themselves, but their enemies are also gunning for the organisation.

Sophia Rocchetti is struggling through early motherhood, while also dealing with her family's turmoil. Along with her husband, Alessandro 'The Godless' Rocchetti, the two are forced to go to lengths they never thought themselves capable of in order to ensure their family's survival.

With opponents at every corner, Sophia must use everything she has and everything she has learnt to ensure her reign over Chicago. Will she succeed or will the Rocchetti Dynasty finally come to an end?

The final book in The Rocchetti Dynasty trilogy.

My Review:

While reading the final book in this trilogy, it felt like this series has finally come to a complete full circle. The irony is not lost here considering that the first book began with a wedding and this last book in the series begins with a funeral.
With the Don of Chicago Outfit dead, the city is in shambles and there is a power struggle within the family over who will be taking over the Dynasty and be the ultimate ruler.

Whoever knows me, knows that I live for drama and theatrics. I don't understand why one would read some plain romance which has been written a million times? This book, like its predecessors has enough drama to last you for a lifetime.  And I guess, that's the main reason why I love this series so much. The twists just keep coming and coming.

There's this car chase at around 12% where our MCs are being attacked and this scene felt like it was straight out of an action movie.

My thoughts on hero:

I loved the scenes between Alessandro and Baby Dante. They were absolutely swoon worthy.
The thing that I liked the most about Alessandro was that he was an alpha male through and through and dominant at times, but he wasn't a controlling arse who would undermine his wife to show his masculinity. Instead, time and again, he let Sophia deal with things on her own and also encouraged her to take charge of the situations as against keeping her as a mere showpiece.

My thoughts on Heroine:

Sophia, Sophia, oh my Sophia. What can I say about her? She was a wonderful heroine. When it came to putting on a show, she was the perfect, docile, mafia wife, but when it came to protecting her family, she wasn't afraid to go to any lengths, even if it meant that she had to be downright vindictive and vicious. She actually played a huge part in this book and wasn't some damsel in distress like the most of mafia books portray.

Side Characters:

Toto the Terrible totally redeemed himself in my eyes with what he did for Aisling.

Majority of the people would want a book about Dante and Aurelia, and I would definitely read that, but I'm more curious to read about Danta. I would love to hear more about her backstory and what she went through when she took the decision that changed her life.

Polpetto was an absolutely joy to read, though I feel like he appeared less in this book than the previous two. I was laughing like an idiot when I read about his Inheritance.

Nero and Ophelia are another couple who look like they would have their book
in the future.

My Rating:

Bree Porter is an author whose books you should be on lookout for. This book had all the makings of a great read that would keep you engrossed at all times whilst reading and hence it gets Enthralling Five Stars from me. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
