REVIEW OF BONES IN THE BLUE BARREL BY AJAY KAR

The true mastery and the very essence or beauty of the best mystery novels is that they latch and prey on the readers most primitive and prominent human instinct to look for answers to questions.

The Blurb is as follows:

Inspector Raghu Ram doesn't like cold cases. When he is challenged by his new and latest case, he is determined to leave no stone unturned.

A few kids stumble upon an abandoned blue barrel with an exposed human skull packed with cement and concrete. Post mortem and forensic reports suggest that it is a homicide, which happened two years back, but there's been no missing case report of the deceased. There are no leads and only a barrel full of bones.

Assisted by his able team members, can Inspector Raghu Ram crack the case?

Review:

It can feel a little unsettling, or rather maddening to not know what is there that is going to come or happen next.

But even if all these above things are true, the readers yet still love it when a crime thriller is impossible to predict. Even better are the circumstances where the mystery book has us on the edge of their seat until the very last second.

‘Bones in the Blue Barrel’ by author Ajay Kar is a gripping thriller that is inspired by true events, which is bound to make us anticipate about who the culprit is and the events that took place.

Inspector Raghu Ram is someone who always likes to push himself beyond his limits and the cases which do not offer much happenstance do not appeal to him.

However, when he gets to know about a concrete filled drum, his intrigue is elevated and what happens next as he makes the discoveries pertaining to the case is the entire plot and narrative of the story.

The author has done an excellent job as we see that every word was chosen carefully, every sentence was crafted in a very thoughtful manner and every paragraph was brimming with meaning and purpose to further the story.

This book was different in a sense that it not only holds the attention of its readers right from the first page of the story, but along with it, it also has the ability to command our attention.

The readers will be so engrossed in solving the mystery of The Barrel Case that it will be difficult to put it down. Hence I am going to give this book FIVE BLUE STARS ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
