REVIEW OF IMPULSES LAID BARE BY ALEXIA
As it has been so very rightly quoted, our impulses are said to be the key factor in revealing our character and they are what compel people to respond to certain circumstances.
The Blurb is as follows:
Impulses are like concealed cracks in porcelain, no matter how much you attempt to hide them, they somehow manage to lay themselves bare.
Blame it on the lighting, the angle, or the viewer’s keen sight but deep down we know, these cracks reveal some things about ourselves that we are not ready to accept or at least display.
But what if we fill these cracks with different shades of love, acceptance, and expression?
My Review:
Sometimes, there may come a point of time in our life when instead of taking decisions or doing things the way we want, we fear what others are thinking about us and this makes it difficult for us to comprehend and navigate.
In the book, ‘Impulses Laid Bare’ by Alexia, we see a collection of poems that are straight from the heart of the poet, the ones which can leave behind an imprint and help give valuable teachings to all the readers.
They say that there are times when regardless of what we do or what we are, we always have to face the consequences of being judged, and the main reason for it is because of the society that we live in.
In such cases, the poems from this book can be a total eye-opener and will make us understand how there is no way we can control how other people are receiving or reciprocating our energy.
Every single little thing we do or what we say is always going to be filtered based on the lens that others are holding or through the perception of how others view us.
Hence, from the poems, we see just how it becomes imperative that rather than giving someone else power over us, we should do what we feel is right for ourselves.
My final Thoughts:
Though this was a very short collection of poems, these were the poems that gives a powerful message and I would be open to reading more from the poet. Hence I am going to give this FIVE STARS ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
