REVIEW OF BATTLE FOR BITTORA BY ANUJA CHAUHAN

Written as a first person narrative, Anuja Chauhan delivers you a perfect rom-com for the election season.

 The Blurb Is As Follows:

Twenty-five-year-old Jinni lives in Mumbai, works in a hip animation studio and is perfectly happy with her carefree and independent existence. Until her bossy grandmother shows up and announces that it is Jinni’s 'duty' to drop everything and come and contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from their sleepy hometown, Bittora.Of course Jinni swears she won't. But she soon ends up swathed in cotton saris and frumpy blouses, battling prickly heat, corruption and accusations of nymphomania as candidate Sarojini Pande, a daughter of the illustrious Pande dynasty of Pavit Pradesh. And if life isn’t fun enough already, her main opposition turns out to be Bittora ex-royal,Zain Altaf Khan – an irritatingly idealistic though undeniably lustworthy individual with whom Jinni shares a complicated history...

Review:

After reading The Zoya Factor  Anuja Chauhan has been one of my favourite authors, she undoubtedly is the queen of rom-com.

The one thing that I really love about her books is the fact that the heroine of her books are very much normal and real, they are not super human trying to be really good or are the most beautiful girl or the. You can definitely feel like "oh! This is what I do" or " she is soo much like me".

Battle for Bittora is the political love story of Jinnie and Zain, " the youngest candidate in the election". This rom-com is written from the perspective of Jinnie, telling about the struggles she faces trying to become a true political leader while the whole time convincing her heart that Zain Altaf Khan is her "frenemy".

It took me a little time to get into the book, it initially is a bit slow but later on, the book was a one fun ride to be on, all the characters and specially Zain is soo wonderfully described that I must say Anuja Chauhan knows how to create a perfect bookboyfried .

I'm going with 4.5/5

Conclusion:

If you love rom-com or are looking for a light read them you should definitely pick this book up.
