REVIEW OF 52 LAWS OF LOVE BY HIMANSHU GOEL

‘52 Laws of Love’ by Himanshu Goel is an assemblage of fifty two love poems which are together a combination of aesthetic appeal and excellent verse.

The blurb is as follows:

52 laws of love by Himanshu Goel (author of A Rational Boy in Love) is a journey of love in 52 poems through all its aspects, from the honeymoon, to the sacrifices, to the bitter end and forever after.

My Review:

I love poetry books and I'm absolutely in awe of romance books, so when I came across 52 Laws of Love, a ‘‘Romance poetry’’ collection, I couldn't get my hands on it fast enough.

This was a heart and mind-touching collection of poems that reverberates long after reading it through.

The book is broken down into three parts and appears to be a chronological poetic narrative. It reads much like a story, bringing moments from honeymoon, to the sacrifices, to the bitter end and forever after.
1.) A love that is true
2.) Addicted to love
3.) The ever after

The pacing was swift, the tone intimate, and the phrasing rhythmic. The prose was flowing freely and it added characterization to these poems.

Reading these poems, it becomes quite visible and evident that great efforts have been taken by the author for this book.

Each poem in this conglomeration is carefully curated, the result of which is that not a single poem reads as less than stellar. They are all so different and yet the author’s persona is still felt in every single of them.

The way the author reaches across such a wide expanse to “connect” us to his work and to one another is perfectly seamless.

There is much that can be taken in and learned from 52 Laws of Love. It felt like a journey that every person would have come across and experienced/went through in their life, whether it is falling in love, getting over their heartbreak, overcoming their insecurities in love or getting their happily ever after.

The author’s quickly becoming one of my favorites. That maybe the reason why I picked up yet another of his book so quickly after just finishing another one of his book. He has a knack of expressing so much in very few words, it’s like he can convey so many things in very little words.

My Favorite Poem:

And you saw
All the tears I carried
And you didn't run away
And you saw
All the tears
And you turned them
All into smiles.

My Rating:

This was a very pleasant read and I'd recommend it to all who love good poems about romance. It's a quick read, but will stay with you for a long time. I'm going to give this book FIVE LOVE STARS ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
